About Uluwatu

Uluwatu occupies the Bukit Peninsula, a semi-arid limestone plateau at the southern tip of Bali. The 11th-century sea temple of Pura Luhur Uluwatu clings to a 70-metre sea cliff — one of Bali's six holiest temples. Every evening the Kecak dance is performed on a clifftop stage as the sun drops into the Indian Ocean behind the performers, creating one of the world's most theatrical spectacles. Below the cliffs, a string of hidden beaches — Padang Padang, Bingin, Impossible, Dreamland — rank among Bali's finest surf breaks.
