About Tumpak Sewu

Tumpak Sewu ("a thousand waterfalls") is 120 metres tall and almost as wide, forming a near-complete horseshoe. From the cliff viewpoint the scale is overwhelming — but the real magic is the 45-minute guided descent into the canyon via fixed ropes and steep jungle paths. At the base you can walk directly behind the curtain of water, surrounded by moss, ferns, and thunder. Nearby Goa Tetes cave adds a mystic underground dimension to the visit. The waterfall runs year-round but peaks in the wet season (Nov–May) when multiple subsidiary falls join the main drop.
